Artunit Recording Kompany (‘Artunit’) as a label was created in April 2005 to fulfill the objective of supporting, nurturing, and guiding emerging Canadian musical artists by allowing them to create, rehearse and record in a relaxed and stimulating environment. The idea was to inspire a communal spirit amongst the artists whereby they could communicate, interact and perform together in a variety of styles, genres and numbers thus invigorating and pushing their respective musical boundaries and talents.
