The idea of KERFMUSIC came to me in the fall of 2005. At that point in time I wanted to start something that I would really enjoy. My own business. But what? My passion for music - eclectic,non mainstream music has always been in me. I've never been a big fan of commercial radio - I think there are just to many commercials and the format does not give a chance to the emerging musician. There are many great musicians and bands out there not being heard because they don't fit in that commercial radio mold. The top 40 stuff you know. So I started KERFMUSIC out of passion for all the great music that does not get the air play they deserve. Mind you that Kerf is not a radio station, but it provides a medium for the Indie musician to get their music known. That's how I see it.

Dave has lived in Calgary since 1988. He hails from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. He studied business in Quebec, and has worked in IT for several years in Calgary. He also did a gig as a carpenter. A kerf is a groove, in carpentry terms. His favorite color is green.
